It only cost me about $375 but I got everything wholesale from my distributor at work. I work for a small electronics company. I handle computer upgrades/repairs/new and there's a couple of other tech here that do TV/VCR/DVD/AMPS/Recieves/Etc. . We don't do any car audio but the distibutor we get some of our home a/v stuff from also sells car audio. I did do the install myself. I was planning on putting in a false bottom type-of-thing so that the AMP looks flush and I could easily pull it out to get access to all the wires.

That is a pic of my 2 12s, 2002 Kicker CompVRs in a 5 cu foot ported with like 1/3 the req'd port area, it hit a 145.6 but they said the mike was a few db down. For power i have a 140 amp rewound alternator that ive had for 6 mos and its given me no problems, even though im running 1200 watts. My install kinda sucks at the moment, im gonna run 2 15s in a bigger box and more power... Tell me what you think guys
this is my old setup as well.
I didnt have enough power to run the audiobahns,
I wish I had them back now![]()
i am thinkin of getting just 1 sub. i am weight conscious and dont want 50 more pounds. maybe even more. this chick i know had a 8in base tube in her trunk. it bassed pretty good when i checked it out. im thinkin of just doing that. i have changed my 6 1/2s to 6x9s. i was wanting to put 4 6x9s across the rear deck. i dont know yet wut im gonna do but i hope soon to get bass.
Keep it HONDA. Or at least Asian.™

2-Memphis St-300 (Amps for subs)
1-Memphis St-3004 (For interior speakers)
MB Quarts 6X9's
Memphis 6.5's

Sony 10-Disc Changer
Im gonna redo my current setup with the amps in the far back trunk floor and move them to the trunk lid and try to my 17" spare in the trunk with the 12's on the sides. And i have a 1.0f capacitor not installed and need to pu the digital processor for the head unit.....
hey java, how much did the setup cost you, like compared to how much it would cost you (in other words.. how much did you save?)

here's my weak ass subs and teeny weeny amp. 2 8" Pioneers in a Q-Logic box ($50-garage sale) with an Alpine amp (free) they are loud enough for me though. and they are crooked in the picture. they like to slide around in my trunk. i will fix that soon. the Hayne's manual makes my car faster than yours.
little amp
thanks HostileJava for the pictures.

i will take some pics and post them if its not too dark when i get off work.. i have 2 shitty OLD 10" pioneer subs...
i am looking to "upgrade" to 1 sub though, for weight purposes... is a good powered 10" enough, or should i splurge for a 12"?
i dont want to rattle skulls, i just like good punchy bass with my metal/rock, and a good thump when i listen to rap occasionally!
no 15"s for me!
get a single 12, i think they sound deeper and lower, and with sq that rivals 10s

Go with a dual voice coil 10. That's what I have, it's more than enough bass, and you don't need to have a huge box (as with a 12).Originally posted by bobafett
