not much... i resorted to short sleeve shirts/shorts and just the welding mask... yea it sucks ass having the sparks bounce off my skin. I'd rather have that than the sparks landing on my sweater and burning holes and sticking to my skin like when i started
same with working under the car.. the mask covers most of my head.. but since I'm already going bald.. i don't really care haha

I know you race and stuff but just imagine the number of trophies that puppy would pick up at any car show! maybe, MAYBE, even a magazine spot if it's clean.

Hmm... Should be interesting with all the weight in the back. Might be a little tricky breakin free, and once you do it's not gonna be easy controlling the rear.
It's definitely going to be a candidate for some weird spring/shock valving..and wider rear tires would help also, but there certainly is a limit on how much wider the fenders/steering knuckle/etc will take.
I wouldn't try drifting on any onramps until you get it all sorted out..but once you do, can you imagine the reactions of the various tailgating kids in their little riced out civics to that? "Heyyy..wtf, how come I can't do that!"
I can "drift" my mom's Geo metro fairly easy. I can't hold it because of the whole FWD BS, but I can slip a couple corners cuz of how good that E-brake is compared to my 3g, and my 90 Civic was pretty fun on those off-ramps... Too bad the clutch was bad.
That was a good read. Your frigging nuts man. I cant wait to see that thing full on assed out under power. Rock on man, keep up the good work.

Haha! Yep... The " "s probably told you that...
I can acually drift my mom's pathfinder, but that's in the hills on gravel, but I have the skills, just not the money to fix stuff.
Absolutly badass project, I knew someone would have to actually take the initiative. Im gonna have to take a trip up there to see that ride LOL. GOod luck!
When you're done with this, what will be next? 4WD?
Just wait, he will get tired of RWD and throw the engine back in the front, AWD may just come... lol Make it like the Duracco:

Dual engines for major PWNage
you can drift your moms geo because it has like 165 series rubber on it lol
june 7/8 is a 2 day drift event. i hope to have it ready for that, now that most of the major work is done, i dont see anything else stopping me.
i will be runing shitty tires on the back like everyone else... ofcourse that wont stop me from burning these 17's off because they suck anyway... but i still need somthing to drive home on.
i have 4 14" bs tires that fit the 4g bolt patern from our old eagle vista we had.... i will be burning them first.
update on its way...

^^^^ -- this thing is fucking sweet... my next one will be gas for sure.
my co-worker steve was a life saver by coming by with this baby and doing majority of the work with it... without it.. id still be bs'n the panels together.
^^^^ -- going to fold that lip back to open more space for the rad hoses to run and throttle linkage, clutch... etc. gota drop that heat shield off and rock guard the tunnel.
tons of work done today... throughout next week i will be patching up small holes in the fenders still and.

welding inside the car except for some holes upfront is pretty much almost complete, i still have to close up the lower chassis channel of the 4g up so i can undercoat/rock guard everything underneath. I will want to form the firewall around the motor once its running so its made to fit with all the components.

right now the back has 215/45/17's on it and the front 215/40/17's(thats how i got the set) ... if i dropped it down to 40's i could go 225 if i really wanted on the back... then upper control arm sucks the the wheel in right before they hit the fenders.. so i don't think I'm going to have a problem there. those rims i have on it right now i think are rwd offset, I'm not to sure... but they fit my bmw no problem.
Looking kick ass man, tons of work done too! New welds are looking better
